Your Membership Options

CSEA's annual membership year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. The annual dues amount is shown in the category descriptions below.

CSEA offers two primary membership categories: Members and Associates.

Members enjoy unlimited membership benefits and can vote on CSEA business matters and serve on the board of their local chapter and the statewide board of directors.

Eligibility: You must be an Enrolled Agent who maintains your principal practice in California.

Associates enjoy full access to member programs and discounts but cannot vote or serve on any governing boards.

Eligibility: CRTPs, CPAs, Enrolled Agents who practice in other states, and other tax professionals are eligible to join as Associates.

Members and Associates receive all the benefits of our established relationships with the California tax agencies and state legislature. You will receive the weekly newsletter and industry communications, enjoy access to our online Member to Member tax forum, free tax roundtables and study groups, and receive valuable discounts on education.

Dues for Members and Associates

  • CSEA state dues: $250 for the membership year ending June 30, 2024  
  • Local chapter dues: $0 to $30, depending on the Chapter 

For those who join late in the membership year, the dues amount is adjusted as follows:

  • Those who join in February, March, or April will pay half the yearly dues amount for the remainder of the current membership year and will be invoiced for the next year’s dues during the regular renewal period, which starts in May each year. Note: this option is available to new members or returning members who have experienced a lapse of more than 1 year.
  • Those who join in May or June will pay the full dues amount for the new membership year. Their membership will begin immediately and extend to June 30 of the following year.
