Roundtables and the Taxpayer Advocate
The FTB Taxpayer Advocate has agreed to work directly with CSEA during filing season to get systemic issues addressed promptly. Members may submit tax-related issues through CSEA (via email to Joyce Cheng, EA, Advocacy & Governance Manager) or bring the issue to a facilitator during a roundtable session.
Issues are reviewed for systemic relevancy, then consolidated and submittted to the advocate. Our goal is to get answers more quickly for members. The following assessment criteria will be used:
- The issue involves FTB systems, policies, and procedures.
- The solution would protect taxpayer rights; reduce burden; ensure equitable treatment; or provide essential taxpayer services.
- The issue is not a standalone one, unique only to a specific taxpayer.
If you need assistance with an unresolved FTB problem on a single tax return, TRAO may be able to help. Visit taxpayer advocate services at the California Franchise Tax Board website for more information.
