Subject: e-service update info for SL (Thursday release)
On Thursday, the IRS will be informing all e-services users that beginning October 24 the agency will be strengthening the e-services platform by enhancing the identity authentication process. All existing e-services users must re-register and validate their identities before they can access any e-services products. We will be adding additional assistors to the e-Help Desk starting October 24 to assist those who are having difficulty.
There will be a series of ad hoc calls with users between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Debra Holland speaks to NPL stakeholders at 10 a.m. At 1 p.m. we will begin sending emails to stakeholders who use e-services informing them of this pending change. At 2 p.m. we will send a Quick Alert and we will have special editions of e-News for Tax Professionals, Payroll Professionals and Large Business Taxpayers.
