Relief for FBAR Filers Affected by Natural Disasters

IRS is asking tax pros to remind their clients that the extension deadline to file the annual FBAR is October 15. Filers who missed the April 15 due date earlier this year received an automatic extension to file the FBAR.

FinCEN announced this week that victims of natural disasters, including the recent California wildfires, have until December 31 to file FBARs for the 2020 calendar year. IRS recommends that filers review FBAR Relief Notices for complete information.
